Have you ever considered baking a cake for your dog’s birthday? Many dog owners consider their pets to be a part of their family and want to celebrate their special day the way they celebrate their own birthday.

Why Celebrate?
You might still be asking, “Why would you want to celebrate your dog’s birthday?” Well, to answer that, ask yourself why you celebrate your birthday. Birthdays give us a reason to celebrate milestones in our lives and to look back on the past year. It is a day all about you, and who doesn’t like that? Birthdays are not all about yourself, though. Your friends and family get a chance to think of you and a reason to tell you how much they care.

Celebrating your dog’s birthday is really no different. It gives you an opportunity to celebrate all the love and joy your dog brings to you and your family. It also provides the perfect opportunity to spoil your pet all you want.

Onto The Cakes
One of the most popular ways to spoil the dog on his birthday is by making (or buying) a cake just for him. Learn how to make a basic cake for your from the recipe below, or check out the video for an easy to do S’mores Cake for your dog. Your furry friend will be very happy with you!

Peanut Butter Delight
First up is the Peanut Butter Delight cake in the shape of a large cupcake. Here is what you will need:

-1 cup flour
-1 tsp baking soda
-1/4 cup peanut butter
-1/4 cup vegetable oil
-1 cup shredded carrots
-1 tsp vanilla
-1/3 cup honey
-1 egg

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Mix the flour and and baking soda together. Add peanut butter, vegetable oil, carrots, vanilla, honey, and egg. Grease your round pan or ring mold and pour batter into it. Bake for 40 minutes. You can frost the cake with cottage cheese. Keep in fridge.

S’mores Cake Video
Who doesn’t love S’mores? But wait, S’mores use chocolate and we all know dogs cannot eat chocolate. A great substitute  is carob, which tastes almost exactly like chocolate and is completely natural. Let the icing guy tell you more while he shows you how to make a S’mores cake or cupcakes for your pet.

Here is wishing a happy birthday to your dog. Be safe and happy.
