High end vs low end cat food
I tend to buy higher end cat dry food because of their special functions such as dental care, weight management. I've found only 2 brands available in the market, Science Diet and Royal Canin that offer dental care cat food. Honestly I don't understand what's so special in those "high end" cat food except the prices.
Some food claims "no grain" which is easily understandable, but dental care? How does it really work? Why they cost more than other ones? Why can't other pet food companies make food like this so that the prices can be kept down?
My vet told me that dental care food can help because of the ingredients. You might want to ask your vet to see if they have more insights.
